Gita Jayanti 2024 - 11 December

We celebrate Gita Jayanti, on Mokshada Ekadasi, because on the same day, around 5000 years ago, Lord Krishna delivered the greatest and the most confidential knowledge of devotional service of the Bhagavad Gita to his great devotee Arjuna during Kurukshetra battle. He addressed him in order to spread the understanding of life and its purpose. He also described him the right ways to surrender. It is celebrated in the month of December every year.
Lord Krishna guaranteed in Bhagavad Gita 18.68-69:
“For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end, he will come back to Me, Lord Krishna. There is no one in this world more dear to Me (Lord Krishna) than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.” Please help us to distribute the Bhagavad Gita in Prison Houses and also Schools as part of the Value Education Program. Or you can also distribute Bhagavad Gita to anyone you wish or any place you like.

Print books, distribute profusely, and that will be the best preaching work. What will your three minutes preaching work—But if they buy one book, it may turn their life.

(Srila Prabhupada Letter to Bhagavan, 5th November, 1972).

The purpose of Bhagavad Gita is to deliver mankind from the darkness of material existence. Every one of us is in difficulty in so many ways. Just as Arjuna was in difficulty because of having to fight the battle of Kuruksetra. Arjuna surrendered to Krishna and consequently the Bhagavad Gita was spoken.

Srila Prabhupada told Bhagavad Gita to be the most important book for new devotees. Here’s a chance when we can distribute Bhagavad Gita online to others and become Srila Prabhupada’s instrument in saving people even if we may not have enough time to distribute these books personally. You can do this any time of the year. We request you to support us in this transcendental book distribution by sponsoring as many Bhagavad Gita books you can. These books will be distributed freely to schools, pilgrims, jails, colleges, hospitals, libraries etc.
